cooking up an All-Star package
-
- March
- 14
The Rockland and Westchester/Putnam all-star packages will come out on April 15th (we think). I’ll let you know if that changes.
Right now I’m starting to consult with coaches and shuffle things around. It’s pretty tough. There are so few spots compared to how many notable players there are around here. When I see a post on the blog suggesting players for one of the first teams, I skip it. I’ve got enough on my mind and enough opinions about to pour in from coaches over the next week.
Tomorrow’s paper will have a list of the all-state and all-league players. The only thing I didn’t put in there is that Tom Natoli was also named to the all-tournament first-team for the Division 1 state final four.

Dan-
Cmon we gotta get it out there before that. By april 15, everyone is into lacrosse or hockey and it loses a lot of flair. You know who the players of the year are. You ahve watched all thegames just get it out
it cannot be possible for first team all anything having to do with rockland county to be different than this… section1 has 6 all state kids..they are all in league 1 and they are all from rockland..therefore..all league and all county rockland should be, UNQUESTIONABLY
Tommy Natoli
Rich Willows
Chris Wynne
Zach Salt
Josh Shuman
Matt Willows
April 15th? dont even bother! who cares by then?

anyone know when all league and all section wil come out? or where to find it?
i think rye got hosed on those division 2 all state selections, any takers?
It’s not as simple as just getting it out. We have to consult with coaches, determine the teams, the players of the year, the athlete of the season, get first-teamers in for pictures, FOR EVERY SPORT, and then put it together. It’s quite a project. But I agree, April 15 does seem like a long way off.
I don’t think Rye got hosed. Listen, they had an amazing season, however, they are not that good of a team. They had to overachieve to beat Mamaroneck (at best the 4th best team in league 1) in the Mamk tournament in a shootout (technically a tie). If it were not for the league making teams go D1 D2 based on school size, Rye would not have come close to winning the section. I think the state reps realized that Rye was not that good, and they also lucked out playing a Salmon River team that was actaully a poor Salmon River team this year due to the state cracking down on illegal players (allegedly). Rye over-achieved, and I congratulate them, I hear they are moving up to league 1 next year, I surely expect them to have a losing league record next year. It seems like I am bashing them, but I am not, they played great when it counted, and the coach seemed to have done a great job. I think Rye had a good modified team so they have some young talent coming up, but I don’t think they are as good as Stepinacs JV!!!!
Real Deal w/ DICK McNeil,
How can you say that Rye was not that good of a team? Are you biased or just stupid? Rye had one of the best goalies in the section, behind only Natoli from Suffern. They have a tremendous amount of talent and I don’t think that many treams could shut out Salmon River in their own rink and if you have ever been there you would know that, not to mention how they completely dominated JJ in the section final. Rye played Mamaroneck WITHOUT Jordan Eck, with Rogers playing forward instaed of D and TJ Smith missed the last 2 periods and OT. You obviously know nothing or at most very little.
Hey hockey,
Way to resort to calling names. It quickly identifies the quality of your argument and character. Stop with they did not have Eck, Brian Conner was out with the flu that game for mamaroneck and he is an all section player for 3 years so we can all make our excuses. Are you telling me that Rye is better than Clarkstown North and Mahopac? If you say yes, you are delusional. Rye has definatley benefitted from having the sectional tournament divided by school size. They would have had no shot if they had to play North and Mahopac and Mamaroneck like the way the tournament used to be run. I mean didnt Rye lose to Rye Neck? Rye got hot at the right time, everyone knows that, and that is part of sports, sometimes it is not the best team that wins, it is who gets hot at the right time. Losses to Brewster and WHite Plains are also on their record, they are not a dominant team, they just had a good season. This is just my opinion, and some facts to support it. Salmon River stunk this year, they were 13-12, probably teh worst salmon river team ever. IS that rye’s problem? No. But lets not start comparing Rye with the upper teams. They will be bottom feeders in league 1 no doubt.
and Mamaroneck played Rye WITHOUT Brian Conner who was out sick with a fever.

Honorable Mention – name whoever you want from the rest of North, Suffern, South, and any League 4 or 5 teams – Pearl River, etc.
There’s Rockland… any questions? Agreed?
agreed little billy,
Rye has a bright future in D2 playoffs, and will give the likes of Pelham a run for their money every year for years to come. Sufffern will be dominant next year. North may take a step back if they lose talent to preps, Mamaroneck should be better…they did not lose anything significant to graduation, and Mahopac just wins every year. I expect John Jay to be good in D2 as well…although they are so wildly inconsistant it is mind-boggling. And you know Ed Witz will get Pelham back on track very soon. Scarsdale is probably going to be the team that will be hurting in the near future…rumor has it that they are moving down to league 2. History would dictate that we can’t forget about Fox Lane either.
With you on Rye Bill. They got hot at the right time. However they have solid goaltending and as Pelham learned thats a must to continue on in the tournament. Rye loses guys, John Jay doesnt so I give Jay the edge problem with Jay is in big games. They got humilated twice by Pelham and didnt show up in the playoff game vs Rye. Jay returns solid offense. Fox Lane is always a factor. Pelham loses its swagger blue collar approach thats been the teams trademark. The returners will have to acquire that trait. Rye gains serious experience that will hopefully carry them next season. Scarsdale is going to league 2 so they may have numbers problems.
Top Forwards: Bloom(Scarsdale), King (Iona), Conner (Mamaroneck), Malone (Fordham), Rodeshini (Jay)
Defense: Clare (Fordham), HAgen (Mamaroneck), McCabe (Iona), Cimadomo (Mahopac)
Goalies: Ferguson (Fordam), Donahue (Rye)
Joran Bloom Scarsdale
Jordan Bloom
What school did the daniel’s go to? and what are some of the top prep schools for kids like the daniels, natoli and willows of the world
I believe the Daniel’s went to Kent. Northwood in Lake Placid has an excellent hockey program
Re: Rockland County First Team.
Matt Ruthberg should be on the 2nd team over Jake Shuman. He plays a hard, clean game without taking dives & complaining to the refs. No show-boating either.
Bill McNeil,
Rye will ABSOLUTELY COMPETE IN LEAGUE 1! If you look at the schedules and results of the teams you are talking about and the teams Rye has played, you will see that they are indeed on par with the likes of Mahopac. Rye lost to Monroe Woodbury, a huge school that beat up on many of your precious league 1 teams. As for your mamaroneck argument, BOO HOO no Brian Connor… RYE WON THE GAME! The point is that Rye did get hosed with the simple fact that Matt Donahue should have been on the all-state team with at least an honorable mention. Rye is not complaining about having to play MW.
How about a list of where the seniors are headed to college next fall. Not necessarily to play hockey but to obtain a degree. I hear Jordan Bloom is going to Cornell and may possibly play Lacrosse
Rye’s TJ Smith to play LAX at Ohio State.
Technically the mamk game was a tie. And Connor was brought up because all the rye arguments revolve around who was absent on a loss day. Rye Might beat out Yorktown in league 1 for last place. Name a team they will be better than besides Yorktown…and I am not sure they will be better than them. Will they compete???? Yeah, usually, but so did Scarsdale, that does not mean they will win. Without exceptional goaltending…Rye is not a very good team…and that is the REAL DEAL. See ya next season, and we will see who is right.
Chris Wynne from Suffern
is going to 1 of these 2 schools in VERMONT either NORWICH UNIVERSITY OR CASTLETON STATE.
With an outside chance of going to WAGNER COLLEGE in STATEN ISLAND
Rye will get wins versus mamaroneck, John jay, yorktown, pelham, mahopac and will compete with cn and suffern. As far as the mamaroneck game being a tie, who played MW in the championship game?...Rye and Mamaroneck? NO, RYE played MW and mamo played yorktown to win 3rd place in their own tourney. The REAL DEAL IS YOU DON’T KNOW VERY MUCH ABOUT HOCKEY.
Real Deal
I hope the rumor about Rye moving to league 1 is correct. That way, the Garnets can compete for playoff home ice with John Jay and Pelham. Section 1 hockey is public HS hockey, not D1 prep hockey, so each team has holes to fill as the seson progresses. Rye did a nice job of that this season. Kudos to the coach and the senior leaders. Which ever team fills its holes best next year will have similar success. Rye should be able to compete in L1 next year. They beat or tied 4 of the 5 L1 teams they faced this past season. Only mighty Suffern was able to aviod at least being tied. True, we did not play powerful North. I would have liked to see a match with Mahopac. Two defensive minded teams with strong goaltending. I think Rye had a better year than Pelham last season. Suffern will again lead the way next season, with John Jay and Mamaroneck in hot pursuit. After that , the L1 picture gets a little murky. Each of North, Mahopac and Pelham lose a lot to graduation. I see no reason why the Garnets can’t be right in the mix with the likes of North, Mahopac, Pelham and Yorktown. The Garnets return some skill and their modified team has lost only to Suffern in recent years. We lose one super Matt in goal, but have another Matt ready to fill those big shoes. The Garnets will be just fine next year in L1.
possibly ruthberg instead of shuman
and definately ojeda instead of moro
I don’t doubt tha Rye will be a good team next year but TO: hockey 10580.. you must be nuts to think that they will compete with Suffern. I hope everyone is correct and Rye does move to league 1 because I cannot wait to see rye get killed by suffern.. lets try and remember this prediction.. if suffern plays rye.. rye will lose by a score of 5-1.. I will give you rye played great when it counted but to think they will compete with suffern is just crazy fan talk.. they will 3rd or 4th place next year in league 1..
Suffern scored on Rye 9 seconds into the game. Chris Wynne did not play in that game. Suffern won 5-1, after a 3-0 1st period, and then a typical call off the dogs after that. Rye loses a lot more next year than Suffern.
All County is supposed to be about the county, not Suffern. Its amazing how you guys take every opportunity to make it about Suffern. All of these players are good. Its fine to want your players to be recogonized, but dont say that one is deserving and one isn’t. They all deserve to be recognized, however some will gete picked and some wont. But who are you to decide which players deserve it over others? Its back to that North Suffern rivalry! Cant we just be happy that section 1 was very successful this year? Why go on these blogs, that all of the kids look at, and say nasty things about these “KIDS” Didn’t your mother ever teach you, “If you have nothing nice to say, then dont say anything!”
is losing to many KEY SENIORS. There goalie was 90% of their team. Look what happened to Pelham in League 1 this season without a goalie. Rye’s youth program (the Mariners)is awful at EVERY LEVEL.
moro played really well this year, especially in the outbracket games, but was overshadowed by the willows and shumans – he deserves to be 2nd team just as much as Ojeda
Stop Please is right about what is said about the kids on the blog. Everyone parent of a child that plays sports (especially HOCKEY PARENTS) should hear what the coach from the University of Minnesota has to say.
TO: Stop Please.. lighten up.. i haven’t read anything that terrible about anybody.. nobody is saying anything horrible about these poor defenseless kids.. these poor kids are pretty much men and could be going off to war in iraq in a few months.. so to think that they are these fragile poor souls is just obsurd. and honestly nobody cares what we think it is just stupid talk. I imagine you are a mother over 40 who has never really read any blogs before and don’t get the fact that it is just (again) stupid fun!!! go knit a sweater or something
easy on the old broad there suffern.. but you are correct.. nobody cares what we say here.. and i do think the KIDS are a little tougher than what the old bat thinks..
it is not about CN and suffern.. it just so happens that all of the best players in the county and possibly the section come from these 2 teams.. so to stop please.. i assume you are a cn parent.. get over yourself and your team, it is not about the suffern people stirring up the rivalry, and to clue you in .. the rivalry is pretty much over.. cn will not be nearly as good as they were this year and suffern will probably be better..rivalry over..
Spoken like a true Suffernite!
Go for it, Keep making yourself look RIDICULOUS!
what about the stepinac JV team?? they will dominate the house leages around the state next year
Why doesn’t everyone just wait and see who is picked? There will be those left out that will be just as good a player as those that are picked. It’s a shame—ALL these players gave their time, energy, heart, and soul to a game they love for 4 or 5 months – practice every day, games every weekend—too bad they all can’t be recognized since there are many on each team that contribute in their own way to the success of their team. CONGRATS TO THEM ALL!!!
Suffern,
I am not disagreeing with you. When I said rye would compete w/ Suffern and CN I meant that the games would not be blowouts. I was not insinuating that rye would compete for the league. Clearly suffern is one of the more dominant teams in NY state.
this is getting to be a bit much for me.. it is not cn vs. suffern anymore it is the wimpering liberals vs. the heartless conservatives.. give me a break..to the wimperingeir coach, mom and dad and maybe grandma, and to the heartless: nobody should say anything bad about one kid or another and to the rest of us normal people: only a handful should be recognized by the mass public.
should have read.. to the wimpering liberals: everybody should be congratulated by their coach….sorry about that
Suffern: nobody cares what we think it is just stupid talk.
That was perfect, NO ONE Cares, and your talk about these kids is stupid! and Im NOT a Mom over 40, and Knittting is not my thing! although it would be more productive then what you do!
easy there STOP PLEASE.. if you look back, i did not write one thing about any specific person.. so you can rest easy knowing i did not hurt anyones feelings.
My original post was not directed to you specifically, but there are people on this blog saying how some kids deserve over others and are naming names, as well as they are posting “stupid” comments. All I was saying was they all deserve recognition, as someone stated above, both North and Suffern have done an outstanding job this year! and whether you think these comments affect the players or not, is not up to you to decide. Yes, some of these boys are older, but some are young, and I can almost guarantee that they dont like having nasty comments written about them. They do the best that they can, and they dont need anyone’s “parents” making remarks! Enough said!
Enjoy your day!
Dan, since the time change last Saturday nite (Sunday AM) the time stamp is now 4 hours off. That puts us somewhere west of San Fran and east of Hawaii.
I 100% agree that ojeda should be on second team over moro. ojeda is a stronger player, and knows how to play the game better and also knows it better. He is a much better all around player. I know Ruthberg and Jake Schuman. Jake deserves it over him. Jake is a much better player and never gets any credit. I never really saw his name in the paper but he deserves it. Trust me i am from suffern and as much as i like ruthberg jake deserves it.
i agree with Jordan Bloom for Westchester player of the year. 234 points says it all.
Stop Please is right about what is said about the kids on the blog. Every parent of a child that plays sports (especially HOCKEY PARENTS) should hear what the coach from the University of Minnesota has to say.
we shouldn’t forget that Ojeda played defense as well as offense all year long. not easy to make those transitions during your career, let alone during the game. and he did it well. he always hustled and great players on the opposing teams had to adjust their play when he was on the ice because he can hit like a truck. he was and is, very important to the Suffern team and I think he should have been recognized on one of these state/league teams.
Hey Westchester County Player of the year,
The Award is a player of the year not how many goals I scored in my 4 years of Varsity. If they are going to award this award for years of Varsity service then I agree with you that J.Bloom should get it. But J.BLoom didn’t have a great year. His best year was when he teamed uo with Grenhaus. They were untouchable!
Bloom scored the majority of his points against teams that were very bad and barley scored against top teams. Had only 26 League1 points. Remaining points came from playing tier 2 and 3 teams (44 Points). ANd out of those 44 points, he scored 28 against tier 3 or worse teams (Proctor).
Definitely better candidates this year! But this is just my opinion!
Hey fanotgame,
Koolaid time….....What makes you think RYE is going to be competitive next year. THey lose KEY players thru graduation.
Who takes over for Donahue and Iobbi. Eck was “TRANSPARENT” all season except for the playhoffs. They will get KILLED on Tier 1 level. Better stay in TIer 2…..Better yet, maybe Tier 3 with Ossining!
Ok, other than Eck and Rogers, who else do they have….ANd who’s going to stop the PUCK!Who’s their goalie?? Rye is spoiled had great goaltending the past few years, next year it’s “SIV” time!
Coming from a North fan, I have to say that if Matt Willows and Jake Shuman leave for Prep School, as highly rumored, we’re in deep trouble for the next couple of years. Probably won’t be anymore double overtime classic games with Suffern, it’ll probably be over in the 1st period…
The whole combining North/South would really never go through, but it does make sense on some levels. You would never have to worry about depth issues, the team would most likely be a perennial League 1 team (I think). The Clarkstown Capitals seems to now be more of a feeder system for South than for North, but it NEEDS TO BE FOR BOTH! Suffern has a better tradition and never has to worry about bad years or whatever because Suffern Varisty players are looked upon by little kids as icons – and the little kids WANT to play on that team when they get older. They just have a great tradition and program up there. There’s no reason why Clarkstown can’t do the same, especially when the teams have been so great (more North than South) in recent years. Little kids from Clarkstown should WANT to play for their Varisty team, but it doesnt work that way. The town of Ramapo does a great job in recognizing Suffern’s accomplishments – from the Supervisor’s TV Show last week when he had the whole team on there – Clarkstown does absolutely nothing for these kids.
North’s Modified team this year only consisted of about 8 or 9 players and rarely played games because of not enough kids. I know there’s a bunch of little kids in the elementary school levels playing hockey in the Clarkstown North area (North New City, Congers), but there aren’t enough in the Middle School level now. When everyone was trying out for North a couple years ago, now they will be begging for kids after losing 8 Seniors this year and possibly our two superstar sophomores. Now we may have to have a team of 12 or 13 for a few years to wait for the program to rebuild.
Now granted, if Matt Willows and Jake Shuman stayed their last two years at North, North would still be a superpower, because those two alone (especially Matt!) would be good enough to carry that team. They would just never come off the ice and dominate the league. If they go this year too, along with these 8 graduating Seniors, we may be entering a different era of Clarkstown North hockey…
Ojeda definitely deserves to be recognized for a tremendous season. By using Ojeda on offense, Schelling was able to develop a second line this season that could compete with the best upstate teams. And when the game situation called for protecting a lead, he could re-assume his defensive role. And no one on the Suffern Team hit like Ojeda. For this and many other reasons, every other kid on the Suffern team is glad Ojeda’s on our team. That in itself should put him on the all star ballot.
When a team player like this kid shows this much flexibility and talent, he deserves some recognition.
mountie fan.. you are 100% correct about ojeda!!
Don’t agree with the Blogger that was pushing for Bloom to be Westchester’s Player of the Year. I agree with Sect1Fan, that Bloom is good, but his team nothing and he loaded up on times in Tier 3 and Less. Other players are more worthy! Hopefully, the committee picks a more deserving candidate!
Again, because he plays against us, he’s good but only OK Good!
Section1Fan
Anyone who watched Rye this year knows that Donohue is a big loss. Rye has been blessed with a long run of very steady goaltending. And Section 1 has a core group of very talented goalies coming back. The ones that come to mind immediately include Natoli, McIndoe, Iacobellis, Parra, Reggev and Sartorius. But, Donohue’s replacement fits in right below those studs. He will do a nice job for the Garnets next year. Wait and see.
Incredible about the lack of modified interest at CN. However, HS hockey success is often tied to the fortunes of 1 or 2 players. What if Natoli didn’t play goal at Suffern? Suppose the Willows or Shuman families decided to move to a different state?
Only in HS hockey do you have kids play 30-35 minutes a game. North has had an incredible run of top notch players, who play almost every minute, going back to Huthcko, Herman and Quartuccio… Develop 1 or 2 standouts surround them with good support players and your back.
In the glory years, North has had superstars at intervals of 3 years…
Herman, Quartucio and Hutchko (who really started the glory years at North) – Class of 2003
Froatz, Gellis, D’Addio – Class of 2006
Matt Willows, Jake Shuman – Class of 2009… will they stay??? Who knows!
Anyone down there?!?!? – Class of 2012
So when a Herman, Quartucio and Hutchko left, there was a Froatz, Gellis and D’Addio to hand off to, when they left, there was a Willows and Shuman (more than 1!) to hand off to… whos waiting in the wings down there to save North?
All these superstars, and they never get into the endzone (section title) So what does that say 2 or 3 studs can’t take you to the promised land like a team concept can
fanotgame,
Find it hard to believe that Donahue’s replacement will step right in. You can say that he’s good, but he’s never been tested before at this level. Unless he was playing high Level Travel somewhere, he’s going to need a good year to get use to the level of play. Just ask Iacobellis, Parra, Reggev and Sartorius. All had over 3.3 GAA’s. Donahue had less than 2.5. Your relacement will not even come close. His average will be around 4.0. Watch!
Agree with MahopacFlash,
No way Bloom is Player of year. How do you pick a player who’s team won 1 game and lost 13 in League play. And scored the majority of his points against Tier 3 or worse teams. MAKES NO SENSE!

suffern starting 5—>first team all league and 2 of them will be first team all state
Hard to imagine Suffern losing next year…but I would love to see it. Those kids improved a lot, they were not all that special as youngsters on the modified.
Real deal.. that says a lot about schelling in my opionion
The Scotty Bowman, Dean Smith, Roy Williams, Vince Lambardi, Don Schula, Herb Brooks, Joe Torre, John Orlando, Don Neslson, Pat Riley award goes to Rob Schelling
I don’t think anyone will argue that Schelling was the best coach the last few years. Looked like a real down year for suffern after losing to north and mamaroneck early in the season. Must be the water. I wonder if it would have been even better with the daniels kids. You never know, it might have been worse…maybe too much reliance on them, and the other kids don’t develop the same way as a team. But then again, that may have been the offense they needed to win the state. We will never know. How did they do at Kent this year.
http://www.kent-school.edu/campusNews/athleteArchive_06_07.cfm
this is all I could find on Daniels.. I am going to keep looking I would like to know how they are doing
They both played a few games during the season with Brewster’s Jr. B team this year. Justin: 12 games, 4G 6A Drew: 15 games, 5G 8A. Stats per Empire League website (incl.playoffs) http://www.empirehockey.com/

final state rankings.. thought suffern might move to 3 but 4th is fine
Hey Rye,
I wonder if you know what you are talking about. First of all the Mariners have been the WESTCHESTER Mariners for 2 years and have less ans less Rye players each year. As to being terrible at ALL levels, my information tells me that thw Bantam A team won the Hudson Valley League this year and qualified to play in the State Championship Tournament in Fulton, NY where they went 3-0-1 losing to Canadaigua in the state final game. How does that qualify as awful.
are you kidding? Hudson Valley League is awful. It’s Tier 3..thats glorified house league. Lots of ankle bending skaters in that. Try the Long Island hockey League tier 1. Then you can brag about how good Rye is.
Rye will be strong for years to come, theyre talent isnt drawn from the mariners, i believe only 2 players on the varisty team actually play for the mariners this year (2 freshman). They have a lot of Players from the vipers ( including rogers, iobbi, donahue). Also they are not in a terrible goalie situation. True they lost donahue who was outstanding, but they have 2 strong sophmores who can step up, especially with the defense being bigger and stronger(3senoirs and 2 junoirs next year). The garnets can definetly compete in league 1 next year, they beat mamo to start the tigers’ collapse and they cant complain conners was missing because Rye didnt have eck either.
HVHL….some good teams. Tier III…don’t get to caught up in these labels, especially at the squirt and pee wee level. Plenty of good HS players come out of this level. There aren’t enough tier I teams in Westchester for all the Section 1 high schools to receive a little more than a handful of tier 1 players..
I don’t believe Suffern featured a lot of tier I players in there top 10 kids.
many of the players who received all league honors and play for suffern, north, fordham prep, south—play for the tier III HVHL teams—in fact, some are up there now for the midget state championships. many players choose to play on these teams for convenience—rinks close to home, etc.
5 suffern players played Jr. B so thats why they arent playing teir 1
I know a couple play for the New York Saints…many will argue how good of a Jr. B level that is..
My point was, that not many of them were stud tier 1 players. Unfortunately, the Ramapo Saints have had difficulty fielding tier 1 teams, as the Jersey players they used to rely on have migrated to the Avalanche and Colonials..
This is actually a compliment to the Suffern program that they win more through the team concept, less reliance on superstars..although Wynne and Natoli can be in the category for their positions.
The BIG rumor going around is that the entire Stepinac JV team will be playing girl’s lacrosse this spring in a final attempt to get Dan to cover one of their games. I hear they have picked out some nice uniforms.
(The preceding message is no way a slight against some very nice players – only a dig against some rather persistent Bloggers.)
Bloom is definitely player of the year for Westchester. He scored 44 goals and had 70 points while being triple teamed every game. If he played on Clarkstown North he would have had 110 points. No one is close to him-
give me a break! By the way, he is Al American at lacrosse as well. Watch this year-he will go over 100 points and get 230 points in lacrosse also to go with his 234 points in hockey.I can’t disagree more. Bloom was non-existant against league 1 teams. I never saw him have 1 good game against a good team. He is a good player, but not dominant. Scarsdale won 1 league game all year and have to move down to league 2 next year because of this years teams poor showing.
The object in hockey is to win….he did not win. There is a whole lot more to hockey than points. The difference between Gitler and Bloom was that Gitler made his whole team much much better and could carry the team to victory. Bloom never did that once all year. Good player yes….MVP NO.
And no way Bloom would make the Stepinac JV team.
bloom is the best big game player around. did you see the Mamaroneck games, the Mahopac game or Fordham Prep? no one compares to Gitler-
but he never played big in the big games. Bloom domoinates if he had any team around himthe team wouldnt win a game without him. if he plays for Suffern they would win the State because he would score of Iles-especially with 4 overtimes. Stepinac JV sux.How was the FP game a big game? It was a non-league contest. And I saw the Mamk games, like the one where they let up 2 goals with 9 seconds left. Maybe if the fellas were concentrating on their defensive assgnments, they could have put Mamk away. By the way, Gitler played huge in their semi-final win against an outstanding North team to get Scarsdale in to the championship game verse Mamaroneck. And then without much help and playing almost the whole game on the ice scarsdale almost beat mamk but lost 3-2. Show me a big game scarsdale won this year. They went nowhere, and they had a pretty good goalie. Where was the big goal in OT verse North when the scarsdale goalie was shutting North down all game at Palisades? It never happened. Like I said, he is an all-league player, but you can’t give him the mvp. I mean even if scarsdale did not have him, the worst their league record would have been was 0 wins instead of 1 win. All those goals against Proctor this season should not even count, and Fieldston? I mean some of the teams scarsdale played were just flat out awful.

1. i rly hope everyone is bein sarcastice bout bloom…he is average….and scaresdale lax is beyond horrible!!!
What about Luke Malone of Fordham Prep. For the second straight year he was the heart and soul, first-line center of the catholic champs Rams. Came up big when it mattered (big goal vs. Farrel to send Rams to cship, 1 goal 4 assists in deciding game vs. Iona. And please don’t give me that he would not be an all-league player in League 1. He had a big goals vs. Mahopac and Pelham, and had a monster 5 point game vs. Clarkstown North. Just something to think about
saw this on syracuse.com.. thought it was good..
14124.2. From an Ithaca parent

Re: Congratulations Suffern !!!! by MountieMom, 3/12/07
This probably the last post I will make on this forum but I want to leave it with complements to Suffern players, coaches and parents. The Ithaca-Suffern game was the best example that I have ever seen of two teams following their coaches’ system with discipline and good sportmanship. The result was what happened – a 4 OT game ending in a shootout. I understand that Suffern players and fans may feel cheated by the called-off goal. I didn’t see the replay but I thought the net was off before the puck went in. It may well be that Ithaca got a real break on the call. If so, it’s the first time I can recall we did in something that really mattered. I guess we all have to accept the breaks however they fall.
The Ithaca players have a tremendous amount of respect for Suffern as expressed by to me by my son. As youth hockey players our kids have played down state teams before. Twice that I can recall we had our butts kicked. Once by Ramapo and another by a team that may have been s Suffern youth team. No way do Ithaca parents look down on down-state teams.
The main point I want to make from what I observed at the game is that Suffern players and coaches are a class act! The Suffern system is effective and scary to opponents. Ithaca has played similar teams in our section (West Genesee most notably), but they were not as effective as Suffern this year. I’ve never seen a team so comfortatble with the puck in their zone for so long a time. It’s like you want that way so you can wait for the mistake by your opponent and then quickly transition to an odd-man rush. I was tense the whole game because I knew that the shots on goal were almost meaningless. It said little about the potential outcome of the game. With your outstanding goal tending and keen defensive tactics thwarting all offensive play setups it was extremely frustrating to our players. Fortunately for us, our players are much like yours, they don’t give up and they don’t get down on themselves.
Best wishes to Suffern for a successful season next year. I’m sure it will be. Congrats to Natoli for a well-deserved first team all state selection
Hey How about,
Malone plays for himself. His own teammates know he only cares about himself. Never passes. Tkes the puck up the ice, goes around the net and then gets the Puck taken away. “SOUNDS FAMILIAR”.
Without him Fordham would of Won anyway. No way he should be even mentioned! No where to be found against, Mahopac,Scarsdale,White Plains etc…. Just not MVP material this year.
they played their 2nd and 4th sting goalies in a meaningless game..thats like having 5pts in practice
since the senior game is tomorrow i was wondering if anyone knows how they break the teams up for that game?
who are the best seniors that will possibly be playing in the game tomorrow?
who are the best seniors that will possibly be playing in the game tomorrow?
did you really see the mamroneck game where bloom was the only player for scarsdale who showed up and kept them in the game? u must have been watching someone else. as i said, if he were on Clarkstown North he scores 110 points against all comers and they win the state.
Hey leenafuss,
Stop Drinking the Kool-aid. Saw Scarsdale give up two goals in 9 seconds and lost. Bloom was on the ice for both goals….
Come on leenafuss,
What is all this politicing for Bloom for MVP. He had JUST an average season. Whay if he played for Clarkstown North, What if he had better line mates. What if he didn’t play two games against Proctor or many of his games against Level 4 teams.
Bloom is a OK player. He had an OK year. But his team came in last place and out of all his points, only around 20 came from league play.
There’s no way he’s MVP of Westchester County. If he is, then the committee that oversees process should be changed.
Blooms parents must be on the blog…the kid is a good high school athlete at best. That being said, there are no big time players from westchester that are obvious choices. But there is no way a player from a team that won 1 league game all season can get the MVP, how valuable is he? I mean if he was gone, they still probably win 1 game.
Who was Mahopacs star? Mamaroneck? Connor for Mamk did not have a big season this year. How about Iacobellis the goalie for Mahopac?
Does Tuite get coach of the year for westchester?
Why would anyone bring up a FP player for westchester player of the year? Do they teach geopgraphy in Fordham, if so they would know that Fordham is in the Bronx…I really don’t care where the players live….their school is located in the Boogie Down.
Hey The Real Deal w/ Bill McNeil,
AMEN, Amen! Hopefully this topic is finished. But I think last years MVP was Hal McKenzie from Fordham. I might be wrong but I think he was.
Concerning this years MVP, it’s wide open. Conner(Mamaroneck) and Alosco (Mahopac) had descent years playing in tier 1 but not dominant years. Conroy, Sigona, Encarnacao,Guilmette and T.Perlowitz also had exciting seasons. But these last four played tier 2 and tier 3.And I would expect these travel players to do well in those leagues. The only other candidate that should be considered is King from Iona Prep. Never watched him play at Iona but he was a dominant player when he played for the Vipers and Brewster. He was one of the top lead scorers in Westchester County this year and did lead Iona to a first place finish in the regular season standings in the CHSHL.
In my opinion, I really think that they should have only one MVP for Rockland and Westchester. That would cut out alot of these blogg discussions. TIME will Tell!
(Opps!)I forgot to mention Tyler Perrelle. He also should be considered! He’s young but did have more points then Conner..
I added up the points…Alosco had 44 points vs. League 1 teams, Bloom had 23. And he plays a very good defensive style game and still racked up 60 points. Not like JB who is a hanger. Besides, we like him over here. We heard today that the Mahopac guys cant make the senior game because of some school dinner they are having. Good, I hate being hit by Cimadommo!
Despite the loss of a terrifiv goaltender and great leadership andskill exibited by captain TJ Smith and all the other seniors, Rye will compete in League 1 and will make another run for the state title. Since Suffern talks so much about their individuals, the great players on Rye deserve some credit to. First Rye returns Jordan Eck. He will begin his fourth year on the team and will most likely put up big numbers again. This is most likely do to his incredible skill with the stick. I have played for many years, but this is my first year playing with Jordan. I still can’t understand how he pulls off the moves he uses. I was amazed one tme in practice when he somehow picked the put up with his stick on the move (similar to the Michigan vs. Minnesota goal) cut across the crease, threw the put into the air while spining, and batting the puck off of two posts into the net. I look forward to playing with him next year and seeing some new moves he will pick up in the offseason. Jordan Eck is a great player, but who could forget Marshall Rogers? Easily the best defenseman in section 1, Marshall also settles in for his fourth year in the program. You can take any forward you want, Salt, Ruthberg or anybody and they will never beat Rogers 1 on 1. If you go to the right, he steers the puck harmlessly into the corner, and if you go to the left you will get cracked. He is not the biggest guy but when you get in the way of him skating full speed he can hit as hard as anyone. Also, he has incredible eye-hand cordination a wicked shot and he is very strong on the puck. Watch out next year for Eck, Rogers and the rest of the Rye hockey team.
Hey Rye,
What a joke. Jordan Eck did nothing all year except for two games. PUTTING UP 40 POINTS IN LEAGUE 2, ISN’T CONSIDERED BIG NUMBERS! Willows had BIG NUMBERS! ECKS totals this year were less than last years.Last year he had 25 goals, this year he had 20. He disappeared all year. Will do nothing next year,,,Watch! Unless Rye moves to tier 3.
Concerning, Rogers. First of all….Rye plays in Section 2. Can’t be best defensemen in Section 1 BECAUSE HE PLAYS IN SECTION 2. Here are just a few defensemen that are better then him this year: Wynne, McCabe,Willows, Clare, Cimadomo, Hagen,Ojeda. All these “TRUE” defensemen are alot better defensively then Rodgers. The’re better defensemen and better skaters. He’s good but not on the same level as the others mentioned above. He doesn’t even come close. “SORRY”. If you really followed hockey teams around this area, you would never make a comment like you did in the blog above.
Next year, RYE has no goalie. Can’t replace Donahue that fast! He’s been there for four years. New goalie will have over 4.0 + GAA per game.
By the way Rye…....Really, who are you Eck or Rogers?? LOL
The truth is Rye got hot at the right time and drew the right opponents. The stars aligned just right for them this year. During the season against the better league 1 teams and MW they scored the following.
1 goal vs. Mamaroneck
1 goal vs. MW
1 goal vs. Suffern
2 goals vs. MW
and against league 2 White Plains they scored 1 goal and then 4 goals.
They were fortunate to draw a weak Salmon River team who also lost to a weaker than usual pelham team, and then got pounded again by Monroe-Woodbury. The game was over in the first period when MW scored 5 goals and took a 5-0 lead. I give MW credit for not embarrassing Rye and taking their big horses off the ice to even things out a little bit. MW did the same thing to them in the Mamk tournament, knocking Rye all over the ice, taking a 3-0 lead and then coasting. And YES, they did coast… you can say all you want about the team tightening up in the 2nd and 3rd period…the reason they looked tighter is because MW went in to a defensive mode and started to roll out more players. Hey they had a great season in the end, but do not make it like they are a feared dominant team. I predict Rye will be 2-12 in league play next year and move back down to league 2 very soon.
TigerPower, who have you talked to that says Malone plays for himself?
Academic Prep,
Just listen to the parents…..Who do you think they get it from! They know and so do you!
The Real Deal w/ Bill McNeil,
Your absolutely RIGHT! They salso should of lost to Ossining. Ossining had a better team and got the shaft by the Rye refs at Playland. Putting Guilmeete in the box for over 13 minutes, was not a coincidence!
Rye will get killed next year! Instead of moving up to Section 1, maybe they should move down to Section 3. Then maybe they’ll have a winning record!
is Rye moving to League 1?
From what I know a lot of the really good Seniors from Lague 1 can’t make it due to many circumstances, some are up at the Travel state tournaments, others have other conflicts, etc. But I do know from Clarkstown North – Josh Shuman and Corey Samuels will be there, I believe. I think those are the only two. No Willows or Moro. Both are away at State tournaments for their travel teams I believe.
Anyone who has ever played with Marshall Rogers either on Rye or on the Vipers knows what he capable of doing. He doesnt get a lot of press because he plays in division 2, (not section 2) Marsh is the best defensmen in the section but just doesnt get the press or scouting of kids on suffern and Clarktown North. What that post said above about not getting around him 1-1 is true. Just look out for him next year.
Especially if we have our “Rye Refs” that all the Ossining kids are complaining about a month after the game.
Listen,
Time will tell! If Rye moves to League 1, he’ll do OK. His point totals will drop in half. No longet going to play section 2 and 3 teams. He’ll have his hands full. And Eck will disappear again!
Senior Game – yes, Willows is away, Moro was going to play if he could get back in time from the states but now his team is in the championship game at 5 pm about 5 hours upstate—Holvig, Dehnert and a lot of other seniors from Rockland are also on his team and—i hear mahopac kids have a dinner—it’s a shame there wasn’t more notice of this—a lot of stuff going on this weekend and these kids would have loved to be there!!!
WHo does willows play for and what level?
Matt or Rich?
Both then! Don’t think Matt can play in the SENIOR game
DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If they’re talking about the Senior game…I would assume that it would have to be the older of the two!
Willows is away sking in Utah he didn’t know the senior game would be this weekend when the trip was planned.
I’ve known him since we were 5 and i dont think so
Yes, Rye is moving up to league 1.
Scarsdale is moving down to league 2.
I think Ossining is staying in league 3.
ETB is moving to league 4 from league 5.
I think my facts are straight on this.
I want to assure “Mayopac Super fan” that neither Jordan nor Marshall wrote in about themselves. They are both very modest but talented players as I have learned while only playing my fist year with them.
“Tiger Power” if I do recall correctly we beat you without Jordan, so don’t say he will disapear if you never even played him. Also, Marshall is primarily there for defense, but he still racks up a nice sum of points. As I said earlier, no one can get past him.
Bill Mcneil,
I plainly stated that rye was hosed in the all state selections. It is absurd that they didnt even get a single honorable mention when their were numerous players from the “worst salmon river team ever” you spoke of and players from teams that didnt even reach the final four
i happen to agree with you on the Jordan Bloom issue.. he did nothing remarkable this year in terms of points and the one game i saw him play was against rye where the only thing i noticed him do was throw an elbow to donahues head, knocking him out of position and leading to a scarsdale goal… real mvp material
in reference to the senior game, i know donahue and iobbi are at states and will most likely miss it
Sounds like “Tiger Power” still has some bitter feelings from that loss in their own tornament.
rye is going to get murdalized in league one, wow. wow.
Let’s get this straight…... Rye is losing 3 of their top scorers AND losing their Top Goalie And moving up to Section 1. It’s going to be a fun season for alot of Section 1 teams,,, What a JOKE!
tiger power you are dumb, three top scorers for rye are eck(junior), rogers(junior), and Iobbi(senior), so they are only losing one of their top scorers. Second, they are already in section 1 you fool, try league 1 next time
tiger power is stupid,
OK, I’ll take this very slow for you so you can understand.I didn’t say top three scorers, I said that Rye is losing three of their top scorers. Check out stats below Einstein!
#1 Scorer is Eck, Junior with 41 points
#2 Scorer is Rogers, Junior with 29 points
#3 Scorer is Iobbi, Senior with 25 points
#4 Scorer is Smith, Senior with 20 points
#5 Scorer is Uzcategui, Senior with 14 pints.
Are you with me so far, therefore, as I said earlier, three of your top scorers are leaving. DO YOU UNDERSTAND NOW!
Senior game three stars:
1. Tommy Spader (Mamaroneck)
2. James Geoghegan (Rye)
3. Jordan Bloom (Scarsdale)
Spader had a great game put he did not have a hatrick like the scorers said. James Geoghegan scored, but the goal was awarded to Spader when I do not believe he was even on the ice.
too bad it wasn’t a real “senior” game since many of the “senior” stars weren’t there because of other conflicts.
agreed it would have been a different game had all the seniors been there.
defensive player of the game- chris wynne
offensive- spader
goal of the game-bloom
save of the game- eastchester goalie
hit of the game-conroy
Nice to see Spader had a good game, he was a nice surprise for Mamaroneck this year, he did not play a whole lot as a junior. Nice way to cap off a hockey career.
Too bad there are no Seniors on the Step JV squad….they would have dominated!!!!
there were 3 players from each team yellow had the suffern D..fox lane forward..and one of the brewster goalies…spader was one on the blue team not sure of the otehr two!
Next Season looks bright, we should look forward to next year and stop fighting within our dominant section. I will not be surprized to see Suffern and Rye back in Utica next year and possibly bringing back a state title. Section 1 is the best Section.
Stepinack Jv will be nasty next year.
I agree about Roger’s, I have followed him for a while and he is a heck of a player.
haha…its conroy…blooms goal of the game was on me the same shift as the hit of thh game on him…we only had 2 defensmen so fowards rotated by period…although one of our defensemen was Wynne, all state, it was tough…fun game…later
Hey Fan,
Are you Rogres or Eck?
Bill McNeil—yea Hal won the MVP last year and the issue of Fordham being covered as a westchester team has been visited and re-visited about 10 too many times. grow up and just drop it. we’ve been covered as a WC team and we will continue to be as long as we have 99% of players and 90% of students from the best-chester.
tigerpower—you have no idea what you’re talking about. yes luke carries the puck in, then he does his signature cut in front and either: 1) scores 2) causes a rebound 3) draws a penalty 4) gets taken down and draws no penalty because he’s luke malone and penalties don’t get called against people who take him down. and if you say that we would’ve won without him, you’re retarded. now i could have my own agenda and say that i carried the team in net but i know that’s not true at all. even if luke didn’t get an assist or a goal during a certain play, he did the intangibles to set up a goal or just play hard-nosed hockey. He won a ton of key face-offs, was a team leader on and off the ice, and i have never seen a player able to hold the puck between his skates on a penalty kill with 3 kids at him quite like luke malone. so don’t speak about what you don’t know. he might not be westchester MVP but he led this team with a couple of us others to a 2nd straight city championship. you have no idea what caliber player luke is and i guarantee you he’s a better all-around player (and person for that matter) than anyone on your team. (p.s. – you just got housed)
someone before asked about seniors:
ben hertz – lafayette (baseball)
luke malone – scranton or hobart (football, maybe hockey)
will ferguson – fordham u or notre dame (hockey…steroids)
ryan walpole – northeastern (hockey)
Hey FP40 you’re 100%correct,
Have to agree with FP40, TigerPower seems to me that you’re a little frustrated because he doesn’t play for your team. Have now played against Malone for 2 years. He’s a “PLAYER”. Have nothing but good things to say about how he plays the game. Will definitely miss the battles and high tempo games that we have had. That game three was a THRILLER! Willn’t be the same next year..
But, in honesty, FP40!!!, think you made the difference in game #3. We’ll find out next year when you’re not there! Good luck njext year in college.
Are you and Malone palying in the All-star game this weekend?
Senior Game
Was ok, and their were a few real good seniors there but don’t blame a not so exciting game on the guys who showed blame it on the guys who didn’t show and could have. And espscially a few from Rockland that could have been there but decided not to show for what ever reason.
I think some thought it was above them and that’s sad.
the rockland kids that you are referring too had previous engagements whether it was a family vacation or a hockey tournament
whats sad is that youre upset that some of the better seniors and better players in the section and state are from 845 and not 914
You shut the puc up
I’m not talking about anyone who was away or at States I’m talking about a handful of kids from a couple of schools that decided not to come just because.
FYI -I am from the 845 area.
I just think its crappy because with those few kids extra the game might have been better than it was.
Maybe it would have been nice if the ones that put the senior game together took the time to see that travel hockey was still going on this past weekend with midget tournaments way upstate. Unfortunately, some of the best seniors were upstate playing in these games. They would have loved to play in the senior game and, as a matter of fact, some would have raced back to play yesterday if their team wasn’t in the finals last night. Also, I think one of the schools had their dinner last night too. Too bad they didn’t make it next week when these conflicts would not have arisen. Seems like it was rushed together without much notice given to these kids. Hope something is learned from this for next year.
IONAPREPPlayer—thanks for backing me up there and for the credit. but you ask any players or parents from fordham and they will tell you every single player played well in that series. that was the best hockey we played all year and it happened to come at the right time and right after a bad loss to farrell right before playoffs. but thanks.
yea me, him, and ben hertz will be playing. who’s going from IP? you guys are only graduating dinapoli and amacucci (sp.?) right?
Also have Barrett and Schneiderman, who could play.
who really cares if some of the kids decided not to play.. and to say that they thought that is was beneath them, maybe one of the stupidest things ever written on this thing.. it was for fun and if they didn’t want to play that is fine.. lighten up. you make it sound like it was the stanley cup or something..
Wait, did someone say Ferguson is going to play hockey at Notre Dame? He is not even the best goalie in Bronxville nevermind going D1. if Farrell and North can score 7 off of him, D1 college will score 20 per period. Give me a break will you. Wouldnt there be like a big article about him if he was going to Notre Dame for hockey? It is a good thing he went to FP, because he would have been Connor Hartnetts backup for all his years until senior year if he was in Bronxville. Then you have Licursi who is just as good. Geez, get a grip. He is a fine CHSHL goalie….and that is all. Lets not get crazy here….you are sounding like all the little league moms and dads who think because their kid hit .300 in tee-ball that their kid needs to go to specialized instruction because they are the next Derek Jeter.
Ferguson is not going to play hockey at Notre Dame…is that a joke. I hope it is. If he is going to Notre Dame for Hockey…then Connor Hartnett should be playing for the New York Rangers next year.
this blog is reallllllly going downhill
Broncos—one of the reasons i left bxv…learn to read. i’m not going to notre dame to play hockey moron. someone asked where seniors are going so i wrote the info on four of us. mine said:
“will ferguson – fordham u or notre dame (hockey…steroids)”
as in fordham = hockey (club)...notre dame = steriods (maybe we’ll talk fourth string after the HGH kicks in)
it was a way of saying if i go to FU, i’ll play, if i go to UND i won’t. do you really think anyone who hasn’t played juniors, plays clarkstown capitals, and is in the NYC-CHSHL is going to walk-on to Notre Dame? just read what was written. are you michael hartnett or tommy hartnett or nick licursi cause you got pretty upset over nothing at all? we’re not as stuck up at fordham as you think…your little tirade was entirely unnecessary…so don’t be bitter about fordham actually winning championships (and being able to field a team of its own) and just settle down.
the other reason i left bxv…don’t you guys play in league 5? let’s see how many farrell and north would score on you guys. they would never even schedule you. it aint hard to go 13-4-1 when you’re playing Carmel, Nyack, and Tappan Zee.
why are you argueing over this? You sound like morons
A lot of good Seniors from Rockland were upstate this weekend and couldn’t make it to the Senior game (if any of the ones below were invited, which I’m sure they were). They are all on the Clarkstown Capitals Midget Major team…
Congrats to the Clarkstown Capitals Midget Major team for making it to the Tier III State Championship game before losing a heartbreaker 3-2. As stated, a lot of great Seniors from Rockland were on that team including –
Mike Holvig (Clarkstown South), Kevin Moro (Clarkstown North), Rob Goldman (Clarkstown North), Jared Lederfarb (Clarkstown North), Chris Denhert (Pearl River), Mike Leone (Pearl River), Mike Fossner (Tappan Zee), Loftus (Fordham Prep), Will Ferguson (Fordham Prep), etc. I know I am missing people, feel free to add in…
CONGRATS BOYS ON ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL CAPITALS SEASON AND ON GREAT HIGH SCHOOL CAREERS! GOOD LUCK IN THE FUTURE AND CONTINUE TO PLAY HOCKEY WHEREVER YOU GO!
Suffern
Read carefully before answering just like others did, I mentioned for the kids who were away and at States no problem, but many complained that the game wasn’t that good and that it really wasn’t a real all star game due to who was missing but don’t blame the kids that showed, because many Seniors were at the above mentioned. My point was there were still kids available to play and they didn’t,maybe the beneath them statement was much but they should have shown up and the other point was that was the reason the game wasn’t as good.
So before everybody comes on here ripping anyone read what is written before jumping to conclusions.
hmm…I thought there was an implication that someone was playing Notre Dame hockey too. Not very clear. However, I knew that could not be the actual case.
Have fun playing high school hockey. For 99% of these kids it will all be over after senior year. Anyone know what college team Gitler of Scarsdale or Connelly from Fordham are playing on now? Does anyone remember them?
Want a short blog subject? Name how many kids who played around here in the last 5 years are playing D1 or D3 hockey.
Last years MVP senior players? What school do they lace them up for.
Relax it is just a game! LOL
umm, i know some from white plains. There names are greg squires,(not sure if hes playing in college, but i know he got offerred at BC), but i think he blew that. And Tommy summer.. Im not sure where they are exactly
Yeah….OK.
i heard he was recruited by BU..but he hasnt dressed this season…maybe redshirt?
greg squires was offered a full ride scholarship to BU but it was taken away due to his grades or something. Squires also played on the NTDP 18 under team. Ryan Mckiernan is playing for that team now, also playing Junior A hitmen. You will see him in a couple years playing D1 hockey hands down. Tommy sommer played for stonybrook (d1 club) for a year or two but i dont think hes playing anymore. He was on the team wen they lost to penn state for the championship.
forgot to add, squires is currently playing in the ushl, haveing a mediocre season playing for the indianapolis ice
Tommy sommer got out of shape and couldnt play hockey anymore…no lie im good friends with his younger brother, he was told to loose 30 poinds or something like that and couldnt. Also, he injured his shoulder more than once. Squires is playing indianapolis correct and McKeirnan talked to Panthers Scouts, hes going to play for teh american hockey league des moines, Iowa franchise and then will go to college, possibley Harvard, i know he’s talked to their coach and does very well in school. Also, Kevin Shattenkirk who ive known since elementary school from New Ro is captain of team USA 18-U and was selected by espn.com as the 8th best defensemen in the 2007 draft…OVERALLL
Come on…We all know that Shattenkirk couldn’t make Stepinac’s JV team…..How could that monster be rated #8…..............Only kidding…Had to get one more jab at that unbelieveable JV squad!
