Ice hockey in the Lower Hudson Valley with Harold Gutmann

Well, we’re still here.

April
9

I hope a good number of you have bookmarked the blog and checked back periodically.

We’re apparently still in business, even though the link to this blog has disappeared from the blogs page. This means I’ll be able to post something when the all-star issues come out, and we’ll be able to discuss it….in a civil manner.

In the meantime, Tom Natoli had a three run homer for the Suffern baseball team while they were in Florida last week. And we’ve had a couple of nice lacrosse performances from our hockey stars tonight. Six goals for Ossining’s Brett Miranda in a win over Haldane, and Tim Conroy had three goals and an assist for White Plains in a 7-5 win over Tappan Zee.

I’ll be back when it’s time to talk about all-star stuff around the 15th.

    Dan,
I think I speak (or type) for all of us when I say that you did a remarkable job this season. From implementing this blog, the first of its kind exclusively for local hockey, to writing great articles in the JN, you, truly, provided excellent coverage of Section 1 hockey. Additionally, I believe that you became more attached to this topic then you probably thought when assigned this topic. Again, thank you and have a great girls lacrosse season.

  2. Entertainment Tonite

Dan, how about a little leak of the upcoming all-county awards-red carpet not included

  3. ET 2

It just goes to show that if you can play hockey, you can play any sport and be good. There are a ton of hockey players who play spring sports, especially LAX who are tremendous players. Some play baseball, some golf but you wont find many who excel at the fall sports due to the commitment at the youth level to play travel hockey which runs from September on…(so football and soccer suffer becuase the real athletes are playing hockey!)

The only problem with going from hockey to any other sport is the excitement factor…nothing, nothing, nothing..is more exciting than a hockey game.

    curling

  5. touche

a true hockey player can pick up any other sport and be actually good at it.

  6. Finally....

    All-County comes in this weekend…

  7. Don Imus

who cares….we are 1/4 way into spring. anyone care?

  8. Rutgers Basketball

We care. Cant wait to see who is on this. Bring it on. Let the arguements begin. This blog will never die.

  9. Al Sharpton

The Duke Lacrosse players are guilty as charged…Fire Imus!

  10. Steve Bagones

    I resemble that remark

  11. Fanotgame

Yes. The blog should go on and on. First, we can argue all next week (and beyond) about 06/07 season “All County” selections. That should be fun, provided it is done in a civil manner. Then, a little later, we can analyse and debate the Hudson Valley and NYC Empire State team rosters. Next, we can cover the Empire State ice hockey games that will be played right here in Westchester. Before you know it, it will be time to pick up the pre season chatter for the 07/08 season. No need to ever shut it down. Great stuff. See what you have created, Dan?
