It appears I have covered my last hockey game.
I won’t be around for the 2007-08 season. My last day at the Journal News is next Tuesday. The following day – Halloween – I’ll be wearing a very strange costume involving a jacket and tie as I start a new gig elsewhere doing some boring financial reporting.
I’d like to be a spectator at some games now, so hopefully I’ll run into a lot of you. Thanks for your support and the sheer volume of comments and involvement that made this blog notorious. Good luck this season.

you will be missed!! thanks for everything and good luck.. will the blog die without you???
I assume the blog will go on under new management, but I don’t know who that will be.
Dan – you truly gave terrific and extensive coverage to High School hockey down here, and I think I can speak for all in saying you did an ABOVE AND BEYOND job! From the games down here, to following North, Suffern and Rye upstate all over the state in last year’s playoffs, you were extremely dedicated and the families of the players truly appreciated the coverage you gave the kids. You will be missed! Best of luck in your new job in the corporate world, and hopefully see you at some Section 1 games!
Are you kidding! YOU CAN”T BE REPLACED!!!!!!!!!!!!WHAT IS THE JOURNAL THINKING. Look at your blogs versus the others…. What a shame.. Things will never be the same.
Your blogs continued throughout the spring, summer and fall. No othe blog can match….......
Good luck to you!
Dan is “THE MAN”
Good Luck Dan

I cant really add anymore to what has already been said, but thanks for the great coverage, especially in Utica , You made hockey huge downstate, in a small amount of time, which was a boost it surely needed, Good luck in your new position, but it doesn’t sound like you are going to have as much fun as you did on this blog.

Thanks again and Good luck
To “DAN THE MAN”, again thanks for everything! Does the Journal know who’s taking over for you. If so, then they should get on the Blog with us (NOW)and start talking to us. We don’t bite! (well not that much….LOL).
