Big day for Suffern

I know it’s been a while since I last posted, but now is as good a time as any to come back. Not one, but two former Section 1 players were just drafted into the NHL by the San Jose Sharks yesterday—Suffern twins Justin and Drew Daniels. Justin was picked in the third round (62nd overall), while Drew was selected in the seventh round (194). They are the first Mounties ever taken in the NHL draft.
Here’s the article from Sunday’s paper. And here’s a story from the New England Hockey Journal that can catch you up on what the Daniels have been doing since leaving Suffern.
Speaking of Suffern, the ‘92 state championship team will be inducted into the NYS Hockey Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Final Four in Utica. Coach John Orlando would like as many players as possible attend the ceremony, so if any of those Suffern alumns are reading this, make sure your teammates know about it.
Thanks to everyone for keeping up with the blog.
