Gearing up for Binghamton

July
22

The Hudson Valley ESG hockey team will be looking to medal for the third straight year when the Empire State Games get underway Thursday in Binghamton. Western has won eight straight gold medals, while HV is looking for its first. Since the competition began in 1982, HV has four silvers and four bronzes.

There’s a new poll so you can add your prediction about this year. Also, unfortunately (well, fortunately for me) I’ll be in California during the competition, but please feel free to add your thoughts on this week’s event.

All games will be held at Broome Community College. Below is the schedule and the roster (the teams are my best guess). It includes five Section 1 players (Frank Dimaggio of Yorktown, Michael Duffy of Pelham, Alex Hagen of Bronxville, Zac Hiller of Suffern and Sean O’Connor of North Rockland) and three private-school locals (Jordan Gluck and Jake Turrin of RCDS and Rob Molinaro of Iona Prep)
