Thats fair, but i wrote what i said cause im sick of some of the high school people who honestly believe that high school is a fair judge of talent. In travel, you have to make a good team and can choose if they want to play down. In high school, you can be an above average player who plays for a great team and gets all sort of attention for it (i wont name names.) While at the same time top of the line players that end up playing for weak schools get kicked to the curb and ignored (guess where i play). There are a few obnoxious travel people like me, but there are many more obnoxious high school people. And the guy i wrote to clearly doesnt have a strong understanding of what makes a good hockey player.

I think "must be a weak tournament" was in response to the two posts that claimed high school hockey was a joke. It was obviously from a pro-travel person. You can t call it a joke unless you can destroy it and many of the kids who play both travel and high school do not destroy the high school league. Of course some travel hockey will be better with teams recruiting from larger areas and putting together all star type teams with lots of skill and depth. Putting down high school hockey when you can t totally destroy it is dumb. I think some high school people are tired of the arrogance that "some" travel people have. Not all just some.

I am sure you feel better about yourself when you try to put down the kids that have success in travel where you can pick where and how competitive your team will be. I'm sorry if winning a state championship makes your son playing on the third line on suffern seem like less of an accomplishment.

Hockey is a team game. With very few exceptions, you need a supporting cast on the ice for the superstar to carry the team. Willows working alone would have had trouble doing what he did this year. He needed Shuman. Two of the kids listed above are Dmen. Hard to dominate play (on the scoresheet, at least) from the blueline. Maybe the forwards listed above don't have the support on the ice. And if a team doesn't have strong goaltending, then advancing in the playoffs is difficult no matter how good the skaters are.
